Brief inventory of the personal property of the Shaker community in Tyringham after the union of the two families, Dec. 1861, not including wearing apparel, furniture, tools, &c &c. 1862.

Although an inventory of goods, including such diverse items as debts, food, animals, and paint, this manuscript also documents how one Shaker family gave to another of the community when the future seemed uncertain. A note states: "Due to the sisters of the family by the Brethren $286." Many of the items came from the pantry and food stores: dried pumpkin, flour, vinegar, onions, etc. Livestock included oxen, cattle, horses, sheep, and fowl. Other items included kerosene, lamp oil, linseed oil, and broom corn. Most of the items were listed by quantity, but some items were listed by value, including garden seeds valued at $3000, brooms at $194, and herbs at $270. Possibly these items listed by value were intended for sale, not for use by the community.
